二、个人履历 本·斯蒂勒1965年11月30日出身于美国纽约的名人家庭，他的父亲杰里·斯蒂勒和母亲安妮·米拉是著名的喜剧演员，在六十年代，他们十分走红，王牌电视节目“沙利文剧场”曾先后三十多次邀请他们两位出席。受家庭环境的熏陶，本和姐姐艾米从小就喜欢模仿自己父母演戏的片断。十岁的时候，本就在母亲主演的一部戏中友情客串了一个角色；同年，他有了自己的超8摄像机，开始制作自己的影片。
1983年，斯蒂勒考入加州大学洛杉矶分校电影专业。但只学了九个月，他发现学院所授的东西非常有限，便辍学回纽约，呆在父母身边。第二年，他躲着父母参加了一些表演培训班，并为自己找了一个经纪人。1985年，他参加了百老汇重排的《蓝叶屋》，该剧大获成功，一举拿下四项托尼奖。在该剧上演期间，斯蒂勒一时兴起为演员约翰·马哈尼拍摄了一部纪录短片，没想到短片受到了其它演员们的一致赞赏。 1987年，斯蒂勒初登银幕，在斯皮尔伯格的《太阳帝国》中出演了一个角色，随后他参与拍摄《蓝叶屋》的电视剧版本，时隔12年重回荧屏。这之后，斯蒂勒重新拿起摄像机，为MTV台拍摄了一部喜剧片，他的拍摄风格被电视台看中，电视台专门给了他一个时间段，让他做一台每周一次的剧场节目。1990年，“本·斯蒂勒剧场”首度在有线网上与电视观众们见面。后来，MTV台对这个节目的热情有所减退，但福克斯电视网却又看中了它，并将其列入自己1992年秋季的节目播出表。斯蒂勒则邀请到了当时尚默默无闻的坚宁·加洛法罗和安狄·迪克的加盟，使演员阵容进一步强大。可惜的是，后来“本·斯蒂勒剧场”在福克斯遭遇到了它在MTV时候一样的待遇。
90年代中期，斯蒂勒频频在电视上露面，但他更希望在影坛有所发展，为此，他特地收敛了一下自己的戏路，并尝试着在影片《在你的脸上》中塑造了一位双重性格的雅皮士。1994年，斯蒂勒自导自演了《现实的创痛》一片，该片获得极大成功，也使斯蒂勒一举成为万众瞩目的巨星。1996年，斯蒂勒导演了由吉姆·凯利和马休·布罗德里克领衔主演的《衰鬼线人》，该片为斯蒂勒的导演才华赢得了很高的声誉；同年，他还成功主演了独立影片《玩弄灾难》。1998年，他和卡梅隆·迪亚兹共同主演了《我为玛丽狂》，再次引起轰动。此后，他将与杰森·帕特里克共同主演尼尔·拉别茨的《你的朋友和邻居们》；与坚宁·加洛发罗和伊丽莎白·赫里共同出演《永恒的午夜》；与坚宁·加洛法罗出演《桃色》；与父亲杰里合演《The Suburbans》。
