编程中的OOC(Object Oriented C)OOC(Object Oriented C)面向对象的C语言编程：具体是指用C实现一些面向对象的特性，在一些硬件限制设备上为了保持良好的运行速度和低负载并且同时能兼顾一些设计模式，采取的一种权宜的C语言编程策略。
角色扮演和同人中的OOC(Out Of Character)OOC（Out Of Character）是指在进行跑团或在网络游戏中进行角色扮演(RP)活动时，脱离所扮演的角色，做出和世界背景和角色定位相脱离的言行，破坏角色扮演氛围的行为。
OOC行为举例
说一些有关现实世界的与所扮演角色和扮演所在的世界背景无关的内容，如：“你喜欢看NBA么？”、“我要去上班了，先下了，今晚上再来”、“你qq号是多少，能加你么？”等。
使用与角色扮演氛围不合的纯游戏的语言或简称，拿热门的网络游戏魔兽世界来说，在游戏中，比如：“这个武器dps 95还加命中，比我现在拿的好”，“高价收水书，有的mmm”，“klz强力队8=2，来强力MT和MS，AL前”，这样的话语在魔兽世界的任何非RP服务器都是非常正常的，但是如果你是在RP（角色扮演）服务器（如5区金色平原）中，这样的话严重破坏了角色扮演的气氛，算作OOC的一种，因为作为一个你所扮演的游戏中的角色，一个艾则拉斯大陆上的冒险者，是不可能这样说话的
必要的OOC
虽说OOC破坏了角色扮演的气氛，但是有时候确有急事OOC来说明一下情况，大家也是理解的，比如突然有紧急的电话要接，说句“电话，==”大家应该是可以理解的，但是如果太多，对RP的气氛就是严重的破坏，当然，如果能用符合你角色的话语来委婉表达你的意思，就更好不过了，在进行论坛跑团时，常出现后续回帖跟进的人对前面的故事发展情况等不清楚的情况后者为了更好的与某个PC配合互动而特地说明一下情况等，也往往需要OOC来提示或者说明
同人创作中的OOC：
也可泛指称二次创作中的OOC，即再创作时，性格脱离原著，已经不是原角色那个人了，而是一个持着原角色姓名的原创人物。这种再创作可以说是同人的大忌。尤其是很多作者掌握不好原著人物性格基础，塑造出来的角色走形问题非常严重。所以OOC在同人中基本是负面评价。
但是它的存在还有2个正面意义：一种是发掘原著角色的潜在特性，发展延伸到一种全新的思维层面上，成功的代表作有《悟空传》；一种是借原著的人物关系和社会背景，设计一个全新的非常尖锐的矛盾点，如有个“杨白劳与黄世仁”的小品“求求你还我钱吧~~~”，通常是讽刺题材。
OOC的小说本身可以很精彩，人物性格也可以很鲜明生动吸引人，但因为性格走形，因此严格说来不能叫同人，只能叫原著背景下的衍生作品。尤其是如果作者另辟蹊径，立意独到的话，那连衍生作品都不算，只能叫再创作。但是这样的作品，再创作作者可以独立拥有完全版权，而不必和原著者分享。
