英国知名女导演Sophie Muller索菲亚·穆勒出1962年1月31日出生于伦敦的马里恩波Marylebone,她早年成长于马恩岛，中学毕业后，回到伦敦参加中央圣马丁斯艺术与设计学院(Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design)，获得了艺术基础文凭(Foundation Diploma in Art)，接着，穆勒去了英国皇家艺术学院(Royal College of Art)学习，获得电影和电视硕士学位。她在那里拍摄了"Interlude" 和 "In Excelsis Deo (In Adoration of God)"，后者赢得了J沃尔特汤普森创意奖(J Walter Thompson Prize for creativity)。
