Tempe Station

Tempe StationTempe railway station is situated on the Illawarra Line of the CityRail system. It is located in the Sydney suburb of Tempe. The station is located between Sydenham railway station and the Wolli Creek Junction. It opened in 1884 with the construction of the Illawarra railway line to Hurstville[1]. The station consists of two side platforms and an island platform connected by an overbridge at the northern end, which previously facilitated interchange between the East Hills and Illawarra lines. The platforms retain their original station buildings. There is no lift access to the platforms

Platforms/ServiceThe station is served by 2-4 local Illawarra line services per hour which usually utilise platforms 3 and 4. Before the opening of the Airport line, Tempe was the junction between the East Hills Line and Illawarra Line. Most of the East Hills line services now run via the Airport and those running via Sydenham do not stop at Tempe. Platforms 1 and 2 do not see regular timetabled service.
