剧情介绍：1964年，对为爱斯基摩人的阿维而言，有着复杂多变的回忆。他的生命在十二岁以前是完全村落化，从未接受过文明洗礼，直到制图员华特的出现，带他走出原始、进入文明的蒙特娄市；文化差异因素，导致阿维与其它小朋友沟通不良，但也使得他和有着印地安血统的女孩艾柏汀更为亲近，俩人之间产生微妙的感情。不适文明的阿维终于还是回到家乡当个猎人，多年后，他和艾柏汀在战火中重逢，但人事全非，一心想当白人的艾柏汀尽管深爱阿维，却不愿放弃既有的一切，他们是否还能像孩童时期，诉说未来远景……

一部史诗般的爱情故事。
1931年，一个测绘工作者来到北极为一些未记录的地区绘制地图离去时，他带了一个爱斯基摩男孩一起回到文明世界。
在文明世界里，这个男孩不仅接受了教育，还和一个混血女孩产生了一段两小无猜的感情。
后来，他们不幸分开，男孩回到了北极，多年以后，男孩加入了军队，
在抗争希特勒战争时期，他终于又见到了他心爱的女孩，但是时间，空间以及战争造成的距离却是不可挽回的。

Walter Russell: You're destroying Germany. You know that's my job.
Young Albertine: Where are you from?
Young Avik: Nunatak.
Young Albertine: It's not here. You're not on the map.
Young Albertine: [to Avik] He's a half-breed man. He leaves his wife to go searching for gold. He dies. But they will love one another in heaven.
Walter Russell: Sometimes I don't know what to make of you.
Albertine: Sometimes I don't know what to make of myself. What do you see?
Walter Russell: Nothing.
Albertine: Love is blind.
Albertine: [to Avik] You're the only one who knows where I came from. That's why you've got to live.
Avik: Why do you want to bomb Dresden?
Walter Russell: There's a monster in a room. Once that room was filled with everything that was valuable to him. His train sets, his puppet theatre, his model planes. They're all broken now. All that's left untouched is his beautiful collection of Dresden china. You go into that room, you smash all his crockery, then you have broken his spirit.
Avik: If someone entered this room and destroyed her, would it break your spirit?
Walter Russell: If she were made of flesh and blood it might. This is not a race. But I don't like to lose things that are precious to me.
Albertine: [to Avik] I'll never let you go.
Rainee: They found my father on the shores of Nunatak, not more than a mile from where he was born. In his coat, wrapped in seal skin, was a small gift for my wedding, and a letter saying how proud he was of me, and how he would always love my mother.
