研究兴趣与经历主要从事神经科学方面的研究包括脑发育、脑衰老、老年性痴呆和神经干细胞的研究；已发表有关文章近40篇，并获得国家教委、卫生部及广东省科委等自然科学奖、科技进步奖等多项奖项。２０００年至2008年赴美国印地安那大学医学院从事神经科学方面的研究。前6年主要从事脑缺血后神经元死亡机制的研究, 已发表有关文章10 多篇。其中多篇文章发表在影响因子较高的杂志上如The Journal of Neuroscience, Neuroscience, The Journal of Neuroscience Research等；后两年主要从事脑发育的研究。 回国后，将结合形态学、分子生物学和电生理技术，继续开展脑发育、神经可塑性与脑损伤等研究。
研究方向：
1、缺血性脑损伤神经元的可塑性与死亡机制。
２、先天性去大脑皮质脊髓束的中间神经元的可塑性机制
３、缺血性视神经及节细胞损伤的修复与保护机制。
