Ina 在澳大利亚的塔斯马尼亚州是人们每天都要吃的一种芋头，【学 名】 Colocasia esculenta (L.) Schoot
多年生块茎植物，常作一年生作物栽培。叶片盾形，叶柄长而肥大，绿色或紫红色；植株基部形成短缩茎，逐渐累积养分肥大成肉质球茎，称为“芋头”或“母芋”，球形、卵形、椭圆形或块状等。母芋每节都有一个脑芽，但以中下部节位的腋芽活动力最强，发生第一次分蘖，形成小的球茎称为“子芋”，再从子芋发生“孙芋”，在适宜条件下，可形成曾孙或玄孙芋等。
其他的芋头品种：红芋：株高90－100厘米，叶片阔卵形，叶柄淡紫色。母芋较大，近圆形，每株子芋7－10个，子芋肥大，皮厚，褐色，肉白色，芽鲜红色，单株产量0.85－1公斤。含淀粉较多，品质优。鲜芋食用，也可干制。中熟。生长期210－240天，种植期2－3月，9－10月采收，亩产1500－1700公斤。
白芋：发芽为白色，叶柄为绿色，其它形态基本同红芋。
白芋与红芋的芋头因其不易煮烂而很少被人直接食用，一般是将其捣烂制成芋馃等熟制品。而人们直接食用的则是发生第一次分蘖，形成小的球茎的“子芋”，这就是人们在超市里常见的约鸡蛋大小的芋子了。
九头芋：株高80－90厘米。叶片阔卵形，叶柄绿色。母芋与子芋丛生，子芋稍多，球茎倒卵形，褐色，肉白色。单株产量1.5公斤，肉质滑，味淡。蔬食和晒干作药用。晚熟，生长期270－300天。种植期2－3月，11－12月采收，亩产2500－3000公斤。九头芋的口味略优于白芋、红芋。
槟榔芋：株高80－150厘米。叶片阔卵形，叶柄从下至上由绿逐渐过渡为咖啡红，直至叶芯。球茎长椭圆形，深褐色，肉白色，有咖啡色斑纹。母芋大，子芋长卵形，直径3-5厘米，长度可达20厘米，福州地区俗称芋柄。

每株子芋6－10个。单株产量2.5－3公斤。淀粉含量高，香味浓，故名香芋。耐湿性较其他品种差，耐贮性较好。晚熟，生长期240－280天。种植期2－3月，11月至翌年1月收获，亩产3000公斤左右。
但是其中最昂贵和最稀有的芋头还是属于INA因为只有在塔斯马尼亚的西部的雨林里才会生长，在2005年被澳大利亚大陆的人将其DNA引进，第一个对其进行嫁接的人是一名生物研究学院（JCIE）的Ina，所以这种植物叫做Ina。
