影片花絮Made a clean sweep of the Australian Film Institute awards in 2004 to win in all 13 film categories - the first time this has ever occurred in the award's history. It beat the previous record of eight AFI awards shared by Lantana (2001) and Newsfront (1978).
The coach that Heidi boards to take her to Jindabyne is shown to depart from the Belconnen bus interchange in North Canberra (there is a bit of artistic license at work here as the Belconnen interchange only deals with Canberra's internal bus service).
Was originally going to be filmed predominantly in and around Canberra and nearby Lake George, but the ongoing drought on Australia's eastern seaboard meant that the lake was totally dry. Being that a body of water is a focal point for the film, the setting was changed to Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains, where the drought's effects were not as severe.

入围今年戛纳电影节竞赛单元的《生命翻筋斗》在澳大利亚上映期间只有约十万人次观看，票房成绩平平；但此片却在今年的澳大利亚电影学院颁奖礼上连夺最佳电影、最佳导演、最佳男女主角及配角等共13项大奖，打破了之前由《一切从猜疑开始》保持的8项大奖的纪录。
