Flying Colors

Flying Colorsby Tim Lefens published by Beacon Press and Blackstone Audiobooks is among the most powerful books you will ever read. The awesome true story it tells has made it Reader's Digest selection for Best Non-fiction of the Year. Featured in the New York Times, CBS Evening News, CNN, the Christian Science Monitor and People Magazine, the revolution Mr. Lefens has launched challenges the world to a different way of seeing.

An unrivaled story of friendship, courage, and determination, Flying Colors is both keen with deeply moving insights, daring and rowdy with disregard for the dull but powerful restrictions of the oppressive institution. Many times hilarious, Flying Colors is bright with the joy of the ultimate band of underdogs rising from darkest void to luminous expression. Flying Colors rocks the people who read it. Intense, hopeful, swaggering and dogged, its message is that of freedom. A shot of voltage in a bland PC world, Flying Colors will take you up and blow you away. Totally unique, fresh, driven with unsentimental enthusiasm, its a book a professional in the publishing world said, is proof that a book can really change the world.

"I just finished FLYING COLORS, and cannot thank you enough for the galley. I expected to find it profoundly moving after reading the catalog copy and your letter with the fall catalog, but I didn't expect to be left both speechless and in tears. Nor did I expect it to be so impossible to put down-I read into the wee hours of the night. "Luminous expression" applies equally in describing the book, as well as the artists' work. This is a perfect example of how books can absolutely change the world."
