1983年毕业于蚌埠医学院医疗系，获学士学位；毕业后留校从事药理学教学与科研。先后于1990和1995年获南京医科大学硕士、博士学位。1995-1998在中山医科大学药理教研室从事博士后研究并被聘为副教授。1998-1999在香港大学生理学系任高级研究助理。1999-2005在美国新泽西医学牙医学大学药理学/生理学系任副研究员。2005年7月作为中山大学“百人计划”的引进人才回国工作。现任中山大学中山医学院药理学教研室主任。
研究背景和方向：长期从事细胞离子通道的结构与功能，以及细胞信号转导机制的研究。目前的研究方向是细胞缝隙连接通道的结构与功能，及其介导的细胞间信号转导在疾病发生、发展中的作用。1997年以来，在SCI收录的国外刊物上发表论著11篇。
