2.2、故事梗概格瑞斯·哈特是美国FBI纽约总部的一名特工。阴差阳错地成为“美国小姐”之后，格瑞斯每次参加活动都会因为“粉丝”的围观、纠缠或者索要签名而暴露身份，影响整个行动，“殃及”一起执行任务的同事。为此，FBI纽约总部做出决定，让格瑞斯调离原岗位，出任FBI纽约总部形象代言人。
格瑞斯原本不想出任这个充其量只是一个“花瓶”的形象代言人，但男友埃瑞克的负心升迁，给了格瑞斯沉重的打击，让格瑞斯接受了麦克唐纳上司赋予的任务，在专业人士乔的训练下，开始四处参加电视采访节目，为FBI纽约总部做宣传，直到一块参加“美国小姐”竞选时的好朋友谢丽尔、资深电视节目主持人斯坦遭绑匪劫持。

格瑞斯从阿伯纳西嘴里挖出一个叫多丽·帕顿的女人。因为寻找多丽·帕顿产生的误会，格瑞斯面临遣返回纽约。在机场候机大厅，格瑞斯说服山姆，前往谢丽尔和斯坦遭绑架的“老人之家”，巧妙地从斯坦的妈妈那里了解到斯坦有借高利贷赌博的恶习。格瑞斯重返FBI总部，让负责联络官弗尔曼设法查到有犯罪记录的斯蒂尔兄弟。
