Yonggao Yang joined the Department of Computer Science, Texas Prairie View A&M University as a Professor (tenure track) in 2002. He was an associate professor and the vice dean in the School of Computer and Communication Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University until 1998. He received his first Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University in 1998, and his second Ph.D. degree in Information Technology from George Mason University in 2002. He also worked for the National Academy of Science (USA) in 1999. He is servicing as a manuscript reviewer of IEEE Multimedia, IEEE CG&A, and aproposal reviewer of the Kentucky Science and Engineering Foundation(KSEF) for funding.

. The study and visualization of the radiation effects to the brain in an astronaut’s helmet:
The purpose of this proposed project is to
(1) re-construct a 3D brain model;
(2) place it a virtual astronaut’s helmet;
(3) virtually send different measurements of radiation through the anatomical head;
(4) study and visualize the effects or exposure of radiation to the brain. (cooperate with a professor from Physics department at PVAMU)
