外国语学院教授，硕士生导师，中共党员。1982年毕业于四川外语学院英语系，英语专业。先后担任过多门课程和多种层次的主讲，曾任重庆建筑大学研究生教研室主任，大学英语教研室主任，外语系副主任、主任，现任重庆大学外国语学院副院长，重庆市大学外语教学研究会秘书长，教育部考试中心全国英语等级考试省级口试主考，重庆大学出版社外语类图书出版指导委员会委员，1997年“总结经验，深化改革，全面提高研究生英语教学质量”（独立完成）获重庆建筑大学优秀教学成果二等奖，1998年被评为重庆建筑大学十佳优秀教师，2001年被评为重庆大学十佳优秀教师，2003年被评为重庆市优秀共产党员，2004年“大学英语分层次、分类别课程体系构建的探索与实践”（第二完成人）获重庆大学优秀教学成果一等奖和重庆市优秀教学成果三等奖，“以学生为中心的主题教学模式的研究”（第二完成人）获重庆大学优秀教学成果二等奖。主要研究方向为“英语教学与英语教育技术”、“双语词典研究”、“双语教学研究”。主要科研成果如下：

1. 教育部大学英语改革试点项目《网络环境下的多媒体立体化教学体系建设》，第一主研，2003年立项，2005年4月结项。

1. 词典《牛津高阶英汉双解词典》第六版，牛津大学出版社、商务印书馆，2004年5月（香港版）2004年8月（大陆版）出版，译者共8人，本人承担D、E、G、J、K词条和正文中语法说明、词汇扩充、美国英语/英国英语以及全书的前言、附录和插图的翻译任务
2. 译著《新古典主义及19世纪建筑》，建筑工业出版社2000年6月出版，总字数 40万，本人承担1—3章，字数10万。本人承担1—3章（荣获第13届中国图书奖）
3. 词典“英语常用词汇例解”1994年8月在天津大学版社出版，本人承担p.q.w.x.y词条的编写，约11.4万字
