精彩花絮
·影片是完全按照剧本顺序先后拍摄的。
·影片花了4年筹集资金。美国制片商都对这部关于宗教的电影不感兴趣。影片最终在欧洲和加拿大筹得了资金。尽管本片导演布鲁斯·贝雷斯福德(Bruce Beresford) 是奥斯卡提名获得者，但要说服加拿大投资人仍然非常困难，直到贝雷斯福德的作品《为戴茜小姐开车》1989年获得奥斯卡奖，而影片《与狼共舞》的成功也起了一定作用。
·影片中很多暴力、拷打镜头遭到了美国土著人的抗议，他们认识这是种族歧视。而事实上编剧Brian Moore经过大量的研究，已经在他的书和剧本中淡化了对暴力的描写。
