I have finished 3 exams of OCP DBA 9i. Only one exam, 1Z0-033, is left. I will take it soon. Just want to share my experience on these exams. I hope these can be helpful to those who are preparing for 9i exams.
The materials I used are Oracle's student guide. They are definitely the best materials for 9i exams. You do not need to read any other materials if you just want to pass these exams. 99% exam topics are covered in these books. If you understand all topics on the students guides, you can pass these exams easily with excellent score.
Self test software is not very helpful for 9i exams. But if you have time, you can use it as supplement materials.
They are already some bibles coming for 9i exams. I do not think they are helpful. Do not spend your time in searching for those bibles. Instead, use those time to read those student guides.
I think 9i exams are more difficult than 8i. There are already lots of braindumps and bibles for 8i, which makes the exam easier.
But if you take the 9i track, you only need 4 exams instead of 6 exams. This can save you some time and money.
About Reference for Oracle 9i OCP
I also passed 3 tests for Oracle 9i OCP, but I mainly use STS plus Oracle published reference manual. I have no student guide.
I would prefer following priorities for reference book:
1. STS test (It is very efficient and you have discuss question with Mentor which is very helpful).
2. Oracle Student guide
3. Oracle published reference
4. kinds of bibles
