还记得在 2008 年时，Intel 曾经尝试用那颗晶体管数量达到二十亿颗的 2GHz Tukwila 处理器去获取世人的目光。三年之后的现在，Intel 拿出另外一颗名叫 Poulson 的处理器，它的核心由四颗升级到八颗，制程由 65nm 变为 32nm；晶体管数量则由约二十亿颗升到约三十亿颗。
另外，Poulson 也加入一了一个名为「重新执行指令技术」（Intel Instruction Replay Technology）的特色，利用一个缓冲存储器作为后盾，使到系统在出错后能更快地回复正常的运作。而最后一个好消息就是，在用 Tukwila 而又打算升级到 Poulson 的用户可以放心购买，因为现行的系统还是可以支持后者啊。
