My husband and I have decided to move to Canada because we want to provide a better future and life for ourselves and our daughter. Canada has long been regarded as one of the best places in the world in which to live. Recently, the Canadian Government has had an open door policy regarding the immigration of technically trained persons. Prior colleagues of ours who have immigrated to Canada say it is an ideal country to live and work. My husband and I are both bachelors in the computer field, we have much experience as computer programmers, and we know that programmers are needed in Canadian labor market. Because we are young and in good health, we believe that we are qualified to immigrate there. We believe we should have good opportunities in Canada and will have a good life there.
There are three additional reasons for our immigration. Firstly, China is such a densely populated country that population is a burden. Conversely, Canada is a sparsely populated country and starves for professional persons. So we think, immigration from China to Canada is good for Canada and not bad for China. Most immigrants from China still love China, and because of them, the technical cooperation and cultural exchanges between the two countries are daily on the increase.
Secondly, We think Canada is really a wonderful country: Canada is a multi-cultural society, where we can retain our culture and background and still feel that we belong there. Canada is very friendly to China and its citizens. Canada is a peaceful, democratic, developed, and is politically stable country. The health care system and welfare systems are also excellent, so we needn’t have any apprehension of illness or aging. Canada is a paradise for children, and can provide better education to our daughter. Thirdly, we are young and energetic. If we keep our original direction of life, our life might be like a wide river flowing slowly to the destination. But why not to be a brook in the mountain jumping and running from rocks to waterfalls, tasting more and experiencing more before we walk to the end of our life?
The reasons for leaving China are not because we don’t like China. In fact, we are successful in China, we have our own house, we have good working conditions, and our software is being used nationwide. All in all, we have gained esteem through our hard working, but we don’t like the dense population and air pollution here. Furthermore, we feel we are not free enough in China. We’d like to be able to settle down in a country that has a beautiful natural environment and is much more developed. We believe Canada holds a bright future for our family. We will settle in Canada and stay permanently, but we will return to China on vacation to visit our family.
We have prepared a lot for immigration:1, We have saved some money through more than ten years working.2, We kept on improving our professional skills.I have passed “ the Professional Certification from IBM” and I’ll take the exams for MCSE and MCSDBA (Microsoft Certified Professor). My husband will take the exams for OCP (Oracle Certified Professor).3, We have continued our study of English. 4, We have made some research on the overview of Canadian society.
How will we benefit Canada? We believe that with our high level of education and extensive work experiences, we can develop innovative software for Canadian business. Furthermore, we are willing to work hard, and our occupation is in demand in Canada.
We have received our Landing Papers, but this is just first step, we still have a lot of things to do, we hope everything will go smoothly.
