Hi, everybody,
Just as Linda said, historically speaking, May is a bleeding and sacrificial month. For example, the great Paris Commune ended and the notorious Chinese Great Cultural Revolution started in the month
But May is a little luckier to me than to Linda. I would even be so lucky to have a chance to pay a business visit to Sweden in May.
This is a country with less population than any one of the top ten cities in China. It would always bring Nobel Prizes, film star and hackers to our minds at any moment nowadays when it bring its name to our ears.
It’s the motherland of the famous chemist, Nobel. The Swedish chemist and engineer invented dynamite in 1866, made a good fortune and then bequeathed all of it to institute the Nobel Prizes. Any of the six international prizes awarded annually by the Nobel Foundation for outstanding achievements in the fields of physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature, and economics and for the promotion of world peace.
It is the motherland of the most famous hackers in the world. It has the most powerful hacker’s organization in the world. Its members are very active in the Internet. Some of Hongen’s readers have become the victims of them. But not everybody dislikes them, the Robin Hood in the net. For example, I myself, pay respect to them very much.
It’s the motherland of many film stars, such as Vivian Leigh, Ingrid Berman and so on. Perhaps you don’t know what I refer to at the first hearing of these names. But I don’t think you would and should forget the heroine of the following movies, such as Waterloo Bridge, Casablanca and so on.
But do you know that it was once very powerful in history? The northern Europe country, located on the eastern Scandinavian Peninsula had been a major European power by the 17th century, controlling most of the Baltic coast. Sweden lost much of its territory afterwards.
Some Swidish Chinese are very active in Hongen community. I ever chatted with them and learned a lot about hackings and medicine from them. It seems that Chinese herbal medicine is becoming more and more popular in the northern Europe country.
I ever got some kind advice from my dear sister Dove, who is experienced with international traveling, about how to make this trip an unforgettable one. Her advice is that I should by the same souvenir every city, even every country. It would be cheap and memorable. I've decided to collect key rings or spoons and forks in every city in the trip. And I can tell my son how and where the key rings and spoon and forks come from. Don’t you think it’a good idea?
All in all, I like to enjoy this trip more with less money, time and energy. Any advice would be welcome. BTW, Uncle Ben and Mary, what advice would you give for this trip? As far as I know, Uncle Ben comes from Baltic States.
I would tell you more about Sweden and some northern Europe countries at my convenience.
Margot
