Last time, there was something wrong with the system. I didn't realized it, and
left in a hurry. Now I have to paste it again. Sorry for the delay in holiday wishes, but I really couldn't make it unless I come to school.
Dad, Kiss the Doggie!
We must have received many gifts in our lives for many special occasions, such as birthday, public holidays, marriage, moving into a new house, or departure. There can be different stories behind each of the gifts, and some of them are probably able to move us into tears.
For David, an overseas father in Australia, far away from his families in China,
the most valuable gift is a doggie toy. A few months ago, he flied back to China to visit his families. Before he returned to Australia, his little daughter gave him her favorite doggie toy, and asked him to take the best care of it.
Taking the most treasured friend of his daughter, David put it beside his pillow
. Every night, he hugged it to sleep as if embracing his daughter. He knows this
is not merely a toy, but the love and care from his daughter.
Overseas life is busy and hard. Every time when he is down, he just looks at this toy, and then he is refueled with energy and courage to strive for a good living again. He knows he is not working alone, but with his families’ invisible anticipation and support all the time.
Very often, he calls back to China. Every time, his little daughter doesn’t say
anything special on the phone, but repeat the words:
“Dad, please help me to kiss the doggie.”
…
When David finished his story, all at present were deeply moved. “What a tissue
story!” John remarked.
For people overseas like us, the gifts from our families or best friends are often far more than themselves. Gifts, in nature, represent love, care and best wishes. They can break the physical long distance, and make the hearts getting closer.
