So far as I can see, you are doing everything you can for your father, --your parents. There are only two things I can think of that you might do. The first is
to be sure that you get occasional breaks while you are studying. Go for a little walk or something relaxing. It give your brain a chance to integrate what you have been studying. Be sure to get enough sleep so that your brain works at
it's best, and also eat regularly. Don't skip meals. When you need to remain alert don't eat rice or flour products.
The second thing is don't nag your brothers and tell them what they should do.
Occasionally remark to them about what you understand of the situation and howfortunate you all are to have such a father who is trying to give you all your start in life. But don't nag them. They just will resent you and stop listening
. Make what they hear from you meaningful, undemanding, and rely on them to behave better as they mature because of what you have gently dripped
into their brains in the way of understanding. This is a way to teach your children, and that's how I know it. I didn't need to do this to my brothers.
But I think it may help. Be sure to notice any little things that your brothers
do that are good, and let them know that you saw and liked to see it. I wonder
how old your brothers are?
Aside from that, and doing your best when you have time, and are near them, to
make your father and mother comfortable and to watch for whatever little help you can give that will make life a little lighter and happier, I don't know what else you can do.
You are a very good and loving daughter, dear girl. Any parent would be glad and proud to have such a daughter as you.
You have an excellent father. I know a little about how bad it can be when a tractor rolls. A man here was working on a hillside and his tractor rolled. He was killed. I'm so glad your father wasn't killed. I don't think you can talk him out of working for his family. This is what his heart wants to do. He wants
to help to raise his family to the level he believes they deserve. You have an
excellent father. This is the pain of a man and the joy of a man. I wrote something about my own father but I couldn't tell you all, of course. I wanted you
to know that I have some understanding about this, and something in common with
you. Our father continued to work hard, and under great stess, even though his
blood pressure was very high as I wrote in my other root post. My brothers were only ten years old when the blood vessel broke in his ear and then the other in his stomach. And then he fell out of bed trying to call for help, in the hospital late at night. Hemorrhaging blood was flowing out of his mouth from his stomach and nobody knew that he was on the floor dying.
As my mother had a cancer operation for breast cancer about that time they were
both afraid they wouldn't live to raise my brothers, so I had to quit school in
order to get a job in case I had to take care of my brothers. I was 17 years old and couldn't make much money. I'm very glad it didn't turn out that way.
It was only later, after I was married, that I took myself back to school for a
college education.
Dear Yatingwu, I think you should pray for the safety of your father and mother
every night before sleep. Just ask the Great Creator of All to help them. I am
convinced that our prayers brought my father back from death's door. I think that prayers that are willing for the will of God to happen, but ask as one would
ask a loving Father, will help you and your family.
