The Thing I Frown on
The thing I frown heavily on is smoking.
Smoking has all disadvantages but no any advantage. For one thing, it is unhealthful. It is a fatal killer to cause the death-rate of lung cancer is getting higher and higher. Besides lung cancer, the heavy smokers are likely to get heart
attacks or other diseases infected such as chronic cough. Thus, it is generally
accepted that smoking is indeed a health hazard. For another, it has been a direct producer of accident. These miserable accidents we know, of which fire is the vivid instance. Only a little burning snipe, can devours the huge forest, innumerable life, brings about inestimable damage. Besides, smoke is also an indirect role of traffic accident. Drivers, especially taxi drivers, like smoking when
driving. Next, it pollutes environment. The smoke floats in the air and hardly be absorbed by the trees around which is horribly hurtful to the non-smokers.
When I was a child, there were two paradoxes I had been wondering off concerning smoking: One thing was, the government, who know clearly that smoking has been doing irreparable harm to the whole world, and have the right authority to prohibit tobacco companies or their agents from producing or selling smokes, why do
they turn a blind eye to that? The other was, we have already known a lot of disadvantages of smoking via hearing about or looking at ourselves from the widespread spread of mass media, why do we ignore the serious consequences of becoming
a smoker and keep insensible to smoke? Over time, finally I’ve got to know where the reasons lie. Tobacco industry is one of the dominative sources of every nation’s economy income. What would happen if smoking is really banned altogether? No government therefore has ever paid true attention to this situation. The attendees of smoking, as we all know, regardless of age, gender, can be included.
Many young smokers regard smoking as a sort of fashion which they can’t do without. Few adults think smoking can relieve stresses of everyday life and assuage
tenseness when at the vital moment. As for most long-term smokers, they have never thought to give it up or they may say they have gotten used to smoking so it
’s too late to do so.
For me, like thousands upon thousands people are, being an innocent victim of
second-hand smoking, surely hope smoking will be banned once and for all. I am looking forward to that day!
Smoking shortens smoke itself, shortens your life simultaneously. Smokers, wise up!
