My New Home
It was a refreshing day out after the exhaustion from the trip to Suzhou. It had rained fairly often lately. Thanks to it The air became clearer; and the temperature gradually dropped to the extent when walking outside you naturally stopped sweating and puffing.
I told my friend after I came back from Suzhou that the house lacked of soul. Itwas too big to hold any homely feeling. I just felt the noise and vibration all day and all night and nothing else. Lying down still in the ditch dark bedroom, you felt the world around you was still awake eerily and attempted to disturbyour dream and tucked away your ease. I told my friend that I never liked thishouse and never will, and I wanted to get out of here.
So in such a fine afternoon, we decided to walk around Century Park to locate our new home. It was a some-half-an-hour trip by subway. Passing on from People
Square, actually the usually thronged subway started to became less and less packed. Nobody would squeeze or squash you in the compartment, and nobody would scrabble for seats fiercely and foolishly. People actually became more civilized
because of less density of its own kind.
After we got off at Century Park Station and walked along the road above the ground, lots of greens and natural scenery came to us with a welcoming look. Therewere literally miles of willow trees growing and breezing away alongside the pavements. Though lots of high-rises appeared around, they surprisingly didn’t blot out your vision, but instead gave you a sense of distance and space when you
looked at them. Here you actually could see far into the distance, and hear thewhispering sounds of nature in the daytime without interruption. There were cars and people on the street, but they seemed willing to let you alone: They cameto you, and then they passed by and vanished from your sight.
My friend agreed with me that it was a lovely area. Not only was it quieter andless peopled, it was but also a convenient place for sports. We can actually goroller skating on the road anytime, without worrying about being ruined or hindered by vehicles or pedestrians. Also, we can go outside for a walk anywhere around the area. There is a huge lake, rows of trees and greens, and lots of open and unoccupied space. Besides, the air quality is much better than that of downtown area; so is the noise pollution.
Like the time when we decided to invest in our sports facilities, my friend asked the same question: Will we get bored of the life here? We are getting more andmore tired of living in our current people-and-noise-surrounded area. But willwe get as tired of living here after we move here and settle down for a while
? The answer is no. Because as skating, we always can get near to nature and leave behind the hustle and bustle of city life. And nature can never be a bore or
nuisance. If one day we felt bored by living here, it should be us to blame instead of exterior factors. I can’t wait to move and start a new life.
