一张融合古典,传统民族乐器和newage的大碟，既可以说是一张构架在凯而特音乐元素上的古典音乐唱片，也可以说是一张将威瓦尔第的-四季，进行 newage化的一种尝试，打开封面就感觉到一股清新之风扑面而来，十字型仙人球绿意昂然,仿佛预示着既有古典的样式,又有着令人惊异的变化，就如同这张 cd本身所要表达的内涵一样，无论大家对威瓦尔第了解多少，但每首作品带给我们的都是无比熟悉的曲调，它在带给我的是一种久违的典雅和细腻的弦乐之外，还有那爱尔兰风笛、鼓声的精彩演绎。就象夏日里闪动的阳光，充满活力和生机。
这是库森2001年发行的专辑，也是他的音乐家地理主题系列作品中的一部，如同姐妹篇《巴赫去非洲》、《莫扎特在埃及》一样，他的这个系列每部作品都以一位古典音乐家和一个地名命名，在古典音乐的基调上加以融合进各个地方的传统民间元素，而这张《威瓦尔第在爱尔兰》将巴洛克的华丽风格与爱尔兰音乐的欢快合二为一，弦乐与传统的吹奏和打击乐器相映成趣，透射出无穷的活力。
专辑的封面是一个十字架形状的仙人球，从视觉上就做到了让人印象深刻，寓示着它遵循传统却又狂放不羁，可以说封面设计也是这张专辑的成功之处之一。可以说，这张专辑的音乐是非常新潮且极富创新性的。按说四百年前的巴洛克大师与爱尔兰小提琴和风笛本来是风马牛不相及的，但通过库森的巧妙融合，它们产生了一种“奇妙的和谐”。音乐始终在最具爱尔兰特色的欢快节奏和维瓦尔第的多首巴洛克经典名曲之间游走，二者的过渡和衔接非常自然，而且用爱尔兰传统小提琴演绎而出的维瓦尔第也有了别样的韵味，让人耳目一新。
其实此大师除了这张专辑外，还创作有《莫扎特在埃及》和《巴赫在非洲》等唱片，基本沿用的都是用地反音乐语言来演绎西方古典音乐大师的经典作品这条路线，虽然并不是首首精彩，但无疑是一种非常有益的尝试.
这系列专辑的录音都算得上是发烧级别，尤其本张唱片有多首曲目加进了大量的爱尔兰风格的手鼓，节奏明快、紧凑，低频被录制得很富有弹性，如果您家的音响系统够好，听起来一定非常过瘾。推荐一下第一曲和第七曲，在后一首中，左声道的传统小提琴和右声道的爱尔兰传统小提琴（Fiddle）的交叉出现，对比鲜明，质感丰富，后又交织在一起，组成了热烈而欢快的旋律，令人叫绝。
