剧情简介：
Hale, an American astronaut (Johnson) dies and is reincarnated with other persons who have lived throughout all of human history and end up on a mysterious planet called 'Riverworld'. The humans are left to their own devices and create tribal fiefdoms and succumb to brutal wars and raids. A mysterious race of hooded 'beings' oversee them - sometimes intervening, but their motives are unknown. Anyone who has ever lived and died on Earth comes here rather than 'the afterlife', even an extra-terrestial call Monat, who had the unfortunate luck of dying on Planet earth in 2039. Hale leads a revolt and joins with others on a large boat to explore this mysterious new world.

2009年，美国宇航员杰夫·黑尔在飞行任务中，飞船被不明物体击中爆炸，醒来后发现自己来到了一个诡异的邪门世界——水世界。
在这诡异的世界，黑尔发现远处不断有人浮出水面，赤裸裸一丝不挂，男女不分，这些人来自不同时代、不同种族甚至不同星球，这些人都被水世界一个残暴、淫欲的主人“德尔蒙”所俘虏，成为他的奴隶。过着相互残杀、供人取淫乐、近乎原始惨无人道充满血腥的日子。
黑尔发现“水世界”的这些人都是死后才来到这里的。罗马帝国的暴君“尼罗”也在当中，他在竞技场上发现了他的部下，也在统治者“德尔蒙”当中，罗马利用他们的声援，用自己沾满鲜血的双手残杀了“德尔蒙”的几大将领，最后杀了暴君“德尔蒙”，同时也使得自己成为了一个不拆不扣的暴力统治者。
黑尔为了跟俘虏们逃离“尼罗”的残暴统治，在外星人的帮助下逃离了血腥险恶的水世界……！
