Jane Weaver's music wouldn't be out of place on a film soundtrack. It's formula of female singer/guitar/piano/soft drums is hardly original but it this album is very close to the top of its league.
The sound she creates is mellow without being boring and each track has a flavour of its own.
So why only four stars? There are a couple of tracks on here that do sound out of sync to the rest of the album - 'A Bird Stole The Gold' being of prime example. Lyrically, the songs are heartfelt but not completely memorable.
However, 'The Heart That Buckled You' is quite simply a stunning example of just how beautiful Jane Weaver's music can be.
