国际游戏发行商JoWood Productions本周一正式对外发表了《哥特王朝3》系列首个资料片——《哥特王朝3遗弃之神(Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods)》。该公司介绍，这款承接《哥特王朝3》和《哥特王朝4创世纪(Gothic 4: Genesis)》两代游戏的资料片，将于今年第四季度上市。
JoWood公司在官方新闻稿中称，《哥特王朝3遗弃之神》将解答许多悬而未决的问题，并为四代游戏进行铺垫。在这款资料片中，玩家将再度扮演无名英雄的角色，并一肩承担拯救整个哥特世界的重任。值得注意的是，三代作品中众多知名角色将再度出场，但他们却不一定能够维持与玩家建立的友情。
JoWood公司透露，目前开发团队正在评估玩家反馈意见的基础上开发这款新作。但该公司并未透露资料片开发方的细节。目前，Spellbound Entertainment公司正在开发《哥特王朝4创世纪》。而不久之前，JoWood Productions与之前反目的Piranha Bytes/ Pluto 13GmbH宣布“重修旧好”，并暗示将再之后联手开发全新游戏产品。
