如果你了解黑色安息日乐队（Black Sabbath），那么对于这支“天堂与地狱”（Heaven & Hell），你一定不会感到陌生，因为所谓的Heaven & Hell，其实就是后期的Black Sabbath乐队的四位成员Ronnie James Dio（主唱）、Tony Iommi（吉他手）、Geezer Butler（贝斯手）和Vinny Appice（鼓手）所组成的一支乐队。为了避免和原Black Sabbath乐队之间发生相关的侵权事件，他们以Black Sabbath 1980年的经典专辑《Heaven & Hell》的名字作为新的乐队名，而那张专辑恰恰是Ronnie James Dio加入Black Sabbath乐队之后所推出的第一张专辑。

When Metal masters Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Vinny Appice reunited for the first time in 15 years to record new bonus tracks for Rhino's 2007 compilation Black Sabbath: The Dio Years, an otherworldly force reignited their musical connection. ''Everyone had so much fun playing together that we didn't want it to end,'' the band recalls. It didn't: they reformed as Heaven & Hell and staged a triumphant, sold-out world tour throughout 2007-2008. Fueled by their chemistry on the road, the quartet returned to the studio in 2008 to record The Devil You Know, their first new set of original material since 1992's Dehumanizer.

Roadrunner Records this week announced the signing of HEAVEN & HELL for the territories of Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South America.
HEAVEN & HELL's new single, "Bible Black", is available for streaming in its entirety below. The track begins with Tony Iommi on acoustic guitar behind Dio's plaintive wail before the rhythm shifts to a menacing stomp for the rest of this dark tale about a book of sinister scriptures. One of the first songs written for the album, Dio says it established a tone for the rest of the LP. "When you start off with a blockbuster like that, it makes the rest of the album so much easier because it gives you a benchmark to measure the other songs against."
