VBS1，全称为“Virtual Battlespace 1”
VBS1是一款交互性、三维空间的优秀综合军用单兵训练系统。这套系统主要适用于大尺度空间内的军事（或者准军事）训练及相关试验。在该训练系统中，使用第一人称视角的受训者，将进行包括移动、同周围环境和人物进行交互在内的多种活动。而这些活动的情况与真实世界中并无差别。此外，受训者还可以使用这个系统进行飞机驾驶、武器操作、车辆驾驶等方面的训练。
•VBS1特色
1，3D图像引擎——这个引擎可以生成50X50km大小的场景，并可以同时显示包括建筑物、植被在内的成千上万个物体；
2，支持多用户联网功能——支持32人以上的联网；
3，敌对势力——可以通过任务编辑器对敌对势力进行定制。其中可以选择敌方的武器、单位类型、等级、战术以及活跃程度。敌对势力可以在战场上静止不动，也可以为其配置人工智能。
4，任务编辑器——在VBS1中将内建一个任务编辑器。用户可以使用这个工具创建、保存以及修改战斗情节。此外，任务编辑器还支持布置团队单位的位置和路点(Way Point)的功能。而且这种工具还支持在已给任务中添加“触发”并引发事件的功能。
5，观察员模式——VBS1支持一种观察员模式。在这个模式下，用户可以以3D和2D两种方式对训练进行监控。
6，“事后回顾”功能——这种功能是一种数据记录和战役录制的功能。这一功能将可以记录下任务中所有的移动、开火、死亡、受伤等数据，并将其保存在磁盘上。此外，这种功能还可以以高清晰度重现任务的全部动画内容。此外，录制系统还可以生成大尺度空间上的统计数据。
7，教官界面——VBS1中内置的教官界面允许用户实时对任务元素进行修正。在这个界面中，用户可以对正在运行的任务进行适时调整。其中包括创建物品、载具、单位和团队，甚至一个现成的任务。
