Torque 3D is the latest release of the new engine from GarageGames. Themost easy-to-use next gen 3D game creation platform available.

WORLD EDITOR

Torque's World Editor provides an entire suite of WYSIWG tools fordesigning and editing a game or simulated environment. The World Editoris fully integrated with the Torque runtime and provides full access toall Torque subsystems allowing for terrain editing, shader definitionand application, river and road creation, and more.

TERRAIN EDITOR

Torque's Terrain system is integrated with the runtime with completeediting support from the World Editor. Sculpt terrains interactivelyusing these tools or import height fields generated in otherapplications. Texturing, painting, and decal tools enable theconstruction of photo-realistic environments.

WEB PUBLISHING

Deploy any Torque 3D project from the World Editor to a web browser inseconds with our web publishing options. Torque 3D supports all majorbrowsers and operating systems, including IE7, FF3, OS X and Chrome.Games perform at 100% native speed, with no performance cost,completely in your browser.

SOURCE CODE

All code in Torque is easy to read and cleanly architected. Runtimecode is C++. Tools are written in C++ and TorqueScript. Accompanyingcode is easily readable, fully indexed, and complete with hyperlinkeddocumentation as well as dozens of samples for both programmers andartists.

NETWORKING

Torque's industry leading networking library is unmatched for latencysensitive, scalable multi-player interaction. Using minimal bandwidthper player, Torque supports fast-paced, latency sensitive multi-playerracing games with vehicle collision and FPS games with fast projectilesand collisions up to 256 players per server. For less latency sensitivesimulations like MMORPGs, virtual worlds, etc., Torque can support1000+ players per server.

COLLADA LOADER

Torque 3D supports the loading of COLLADA files, which are currentlysupported by every major art tool, including 3ds Max, Maya, XSI,Blender, and more. Torque's Live Asset Update feature automaticallyupdates any assets in a project while they are edited and saved in a3rd party application, even while you play the game. This creates alightning-fast, no hassle work flow for artists.

GRAPHICS

Torque's flexible, powerful rendering is as well suited tophoto-realistic simulation as to achieving a custom, original-lookingstyle. All modern features are supported by the Torque 3D renderer,including per-pixel dynamic lighting, normal and parallax occlusionmapping, and much more. Torque's graphics API includes implementationsfor all types of hardware and operating systems, making it a viablecross platform solution

GENRE KITS

All Genre Kits combine expert coding with world-class low-poly in-gameart assets for a quick start to any new project. Add-on Genre Kits indevelopment for Torque 3D include the FPS Genre Kit and the RacingGenre Kit with more to come.

SOUND

Torque uses the OpenAL sound library by default and supports a widerange of features. These include 2D Sound, 3D Sound, Streaming Sound,SFX/Music driver, and more. Torque also has a C++ Sound API with sampleintegrations for world class 3rd party sound libraries like FMOD.

PHYSICS

Torque is built with an abstracted C++ Physics API with the ability tobe integrated with major 3rd party physics libraries, including PhysX,Bullet, and ODE.

GUI

Torque provides a fully customizable GUI module. Torque's World Editoris built entirely using this GUI system, so it is platform independent.Additionally, it can be used inside a 3D environment or even applied toarbitrary curved surfaces.

SCRIPTING

TorqueScript is a fast, easy to use C++ like scripting language thatties all the various elements of a project together. Most gamefunctions can be programmed in TorqueScript, and engine additions suchas physics or intense AI coded in C++ are called from script.

torque游戏引擎相信大家都不陌生吧,这次官方公布了bete5版的学习版本,本人已经安装并正在使用中,引擎比起老版本从功能上来说有了很大的提升,世界编辑器部分也有了改善
