◆飞天扣将James White参与制作
在《NBA 2K10》中，2K Sports特别邀请火箭队球员詹姆斯怀特（James White）参与制作，怀特是NBA有史以来最强的扣将之一，罚球线起跳并胯下换手扣篮对他来说是家常便饭，因为如此，2K游戏开发小组特地请他做出一些高难度扣篮动作，怀特必须不断做出各种花样翻新的扣篮动作，由游戏设计小组的人员将其拍成录影和照片，在游戏当中设计出各种各样的扣篮动作，甚至包括NBA系列游戏中从未出现过的罚球线起跳扣篮画面，增强游戏的娱乐性。
◆全新机制：NBA Today系统
在游戏的主选单中，玩家可以查看「NBA Today」资讯，在其中可以看到真实的NBA球赛赛况，甚至包含新闻、球员数据……等，资讯一目了然。 NBA Today不仅可让玩家随时查询最近的NBA新闻，还可延续到游戏的各种模式中。
NBA Today同样会影响到游戏中解说员「Clark Kellogg」的表现，例如，当全明星赛快开始了，你会听到Clark Kellogg和其他球评开始讨论在你的队伍中谁有机会担任全明星的先发，甚至也会谈论你的队伍有多大的机会打入季后赛或是其他方面的话题。
