这个系列以佛陀和盆景为画面主题，音乐静心气闲、适合修身养性，也深得东方文化的神韵，洋溢着禅和利乐众生的高尚精神。音乐交集了许多中国元素，有的依据民族音乐改编。这是奥立佛·香提（Oliver Shanti）的系列佛教音乐之一，这套音乐一共有5张专辑，时间从1996年到2005年，前后十年，跨越世纪之交。在西人的概念中，Bonsai是盆载的景致、景观，我更愿意理解此为佛陀的“心境”（或曰奥立佛心中的佛陀境界）；也确实，这里的音乐与中国传统的佛教音乐是有所别的，这是奥立佛对佛陀以及佛教文化的“解读”，可以说是“和而不同”。
奥立佛·香提不是先知,他只是拥有吉普塞人的第三只眼——看的见世事倒置真象：时间、空间是交错的，古老、文明是交错的，人种、地域是交错的，所有有情的、无情的生命都是交错的！而奥立佛与他的音乐，正是衔接两者的扣环，一边牵起了所有的东方的、哲理的古生命元素，一边牵起了完全的西方的、新时代的、叛逆的创世纪思维。
一些音乐是有生命的，有氧气的、愉悦的，是发自内心纯正的善念；一些音乐是暴戾的，令人窒息、难受的，是乖戾情绪的宣泄。奥立佛·香提的音乐显然属于前者。它平和心态，愈疗创伤，并有倡导和谐世界的高尚品质！

奥立佛·香提（Oliver Shanti & Friends ），作曲家、制作人、音乐家，精通流行乐、灵魂乐和摇滚乐，对世界各地传统音乐亦深有研究和认识，是当代音乐风格最多样化的民族音乐家。他致力于消除民族隔阂，促进民族间相互融合的工作，同时也对第三世界的儿童付出关怀与协助。与印第安巫师作家桑.贝尔合作的《Wellbalanced》、《Tai Chi》（太极）& 《Tai Chi Too》（太极II）等，都是脍炙人口的佳作！
奥立佛·香提有许多吸引人的地方：拥有吉普赛血统，出生在二次大战后的德国汉堡；13岁开始跑船，在15岁去加勒比海及南美洲前，在巴黎流浪。60年代末期，他住在加州、阿姆斯特丹、柏林、北非…以自我的生活方式在俱乐部酒吧等地工作、演唱，在此期间，他交了一些朋友并且在悠游在大众流行音乐及民间音乐间，并组织乐团。
在参加黎巴嫩的BALBEK音乐节之后，奥立佛深深被东方音乐所吸引，并决定前往东方；他突然地消失，在数年之后，透过奥地利记者的报导，他被发现在印度北方丛林里，并建立了伊索小型的医护站及儿童救济院。1980年，奥立佛·香提在朋友的劝说下回到了欧洲。此后，奥立佛·香提与他的朋友们建立了SATTVA 音乐的品牌，透过音乐，传达与记录这些游历岁月的洗练与回忆，也传递他对世界最真的期盼……

Oliver Shanti (Born Ulrich Schulz 16 November 1948 in Hamburg), later known as Oliver Serano-Alve, is a New Age musician. Founder of band "Inkarnation" originally based on meditative music, which later transformed into "Oliver Shanti & Friends". Because of Oliver's unavailability, the rest of the group is continuing with multi-instrumentalist Margot Reisinger (formerly known as Margot Vogl and Margot Shanti), the member of original staff, as "Existence".
Two tracks by Oliver Shanti & Friends were featured in the Buddha Bar compilations: "Onon Mweng (Rainbird)" in the Buddha Bar II compilation produced by Claude Challe and "Sacral Nirvana" in the Buddha Bar III compilation.
