北京时间3月31日消息，据国外媒体报道，美国当红另类金属乐队林肯公园(Linkin Park)对外宣布，乐队将发行一首名为《Blackbirds》的新作，这首歌曲将会作为手机游戏《Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion!》的背景配乐。
这次林肯公园与Artificial Life公司展开合作，乐队将为公司所开发的一款手机游戏进行配乐。在这个名为《Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion!》的游戏中，一个名为PixxelKorp的魔王偷走了林肯公园乐队的音乐，玩家将通过自己的努力逐级通关以夺回被抢走的音乐。有趣的是，每一关的设计都依据乐队的每一位成员。
乐队的主唱迈克-信田(Mike Shinoda)在自己的博客中为新单曲和游戏进行了宣传：“很多年以前，整个世界以8比特的和谐而存在，不过这一切被PixxelKorp所打破。如今，来自地下的力量将迫使我们去同邪恶世界的力量进行战斗，你将是带领我们反抗直到胜利的唯一希望。”
迈克-信田补充说：“为电子游戏创作音乐，对于我们来说是一次全新的挑战。不过如大家所预期的那样，我的队友们同游戏设计小组的成员进行了有效的沟通与交流，而我们也相信所创作的新歌曲会非常切合游戏的内容。”
《Blackbirds》作为新单曲将不会收录到乐队的精选辑中，而这也是艺人首次通过手机游戏发布新单曲。此外，林肯公园同样提供了乐队的经典单曲《In the End》、《New Divide》和《Crawling》8比特版本。
林肯公园的新游戏《Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion!》很快会通过苹果公司的iTunes商店在苹果的各类产品中上市。
