Steamboat Springs, Colo., January 10th, 2008 — Big Agnes Inc., maker of innovative sleeping bags, pads and tents, has been awarded National Geographic Adventure Magazine’s 2008 Best of Adventure Gear Award for the company’s new Skinny Fish 20° sleeping bag. Awarded products are selected by NGA editors and a consultative panel of 45 leading outdoor retailers. The primary goal of the retailers was to offer insight on innovative new products and which products they thought consumers would be most excited about in 2008.
“We are honored to receive the NGA award for the Skinny Fish,” says Big Agnes co-founder, Bill Gamber. “Being recognized at the start of the new year for a product that just launched will not only help us gain exposure and recognition for the Skinny Fish, but a host of other recycled products from Big Agnes’ Re-Routt Collection. Producing a sleeping bag which features the highest recycled content of any bag on the market is an achievement that Big Agnes is very proud of.”
The Skinny Fish 20° sets a new standard for sleeping bags incorporating recycled fabrics, fills and hardware. It is a 99% recycled sleeping bag which features Climashield HL Green 100% recycled content insulation with 100% recycled rip-stop nylon shell and liner fabric. Drawstring cord and stuff sacks are also derived from recycled content. In addition to it being eco-friendly, key benefits of the Climashield HL Green insulation are high-yield thermal efficiency, high compressibility, water resistance, durability and quick drying capability. The Skinny Fish 20° (along with its counterpart the Ripple Creek 35°) will be available at specialty retailers this month.
