Two skin tissue explants were placed in a culture medium, one in presence of Phyto-Complex LC12, the other without. After 9 days, the treated skin explant presented the appearance and morphology of skin having aged by approximately 4 days, whereas the untreated skin presented the usual signs of degeneration (i.e. 9 days of skin aging). The treated skin sample therefore aged twice as slowly.

Additionally, after being subjected to UVB irradiation, the treated skin sample presented spectacular resistance, with the number of cells destroyed reduced by 60%, while the untreated explant presented the usual signs of skin aggression (sunburn cells and degeneration).
