微软移动平台服务商店（Windows Marketplace for Mobile）宣布，微软7月27日将正式接受应用的提交，开放包括29个国家和地区，届时还将举办应用开发大赛。

同时微软还表示大量的移动开发商正在为Windows Mobile开发应用，并且将首先推出Windows Mobile 6.5手机，并且Windows Marketplace for Mobile也同一时间发布，到今年年底，微软将实现Windows Marketplace for Mobile支持Windows Mobile 6.0 和 6.1 的设备，同时，微软也为 Windows Marketplace for Mobile 新增了Business Center企业应用类别。

微软这次的扩大市场意味着微软通过此次协议将会增加了3000万左右的Windows Mobile应用商店的潜在使用用户，当然同时也会大大的方便Windows Mobile的使用者。
