snob value跟snob effect 有着密切的关系。snob effect 是因为某个个体（可以是人，群体）觉得自己的东西或知识或样子比人家的好的多而产生的一种心理状态。而随着自己东西的稀少而好，本身的价值也就升高而把这种变态心理也提升了。
The snob effect refers to the desire to own exclusive or unique goods. These goods usually have a high economic, but low practical value. The less of an item available, the higher its Snob Value.
