參考答案:If your boyfriend is a landed immigration with a permanent residence card, he is eligible to sponsor you.
There are 2 steps both performed by him first.
1. He must submit a sponsorship and pay the fee;
2. He must submit an application, together with the sponsorship together.
Thereafter, he will receive an assessment if he is eligible and then an approval for sponsorship by a local immigration officer in Canada.
The file will then be sent to the Beijing consulate office. You will receive a package with all information including forms you will have to fill out, medical exam and police clearance.
After all required documents received, the Beijing consulate office will determine whether an interview is required. The package will be sent back to Ottawa for approval. Once approval granted, visa will be issued by the Beijing consulate office.
You then have a year, from date of medical, to come to Canada. At the airport, you will fill out a form at Immigration by the PR Card to send to you, which takes about 4 to 6 weeks.
After that, you must stay in Canada for 730 days within a 5 year period to qualify for citizenship.
