In English the idea of CASE is restricted to nouns and pronouns.
There are 5 (five) cases as follows:
1 Nominative. This is the case of the subject of a sentence
2 Vocative. This is the case of the person or thing addressed or spoken to.
3 Accusative. This is the case of the direct object of the sentence, AND of the
object of a preposition.
4 Genitive. This the case of the owner or possessor of something.
5 Dative. This is the case of the INDIRECT OBJECT. (Which I will explain)
