LOS ANGELES - Movie heartthrob Brad Pitt calls his recent nuptials with
actress Jennifer Aniston "The Adventure," according to an upcoming article
in Details magazine in which he speaks for the first time on marriage,
kids and more.
"We''ve made a pact ... We''ll see where it takes us," the 37-year-old year
star of the upcoming film "Snatch" said in an interview that hits the newsstands
Jan. 26.
Named last year as People magazine''s "Sexiest Man," Pitt is working like
crazy these days, reaping some $20 million per picture. He stars as an
Irish gypsy boxer in Guy Ritchie''s "Snatch," opening Thursday. He co-stars
with Julia Roberts as a bungling mob patsy in "The Mexican" opening in
March. Currently he''s working with Robert Redford in "The Spy Game," a
$90 million thriller directed by "Enemy of the State" director Tony Scott.
Acting, he said, is "my life," and while he phones home often, he admitted
that juggling film roles hasn''t left much time for his bride, whom he affectionately
calls "Golden."
Determined to keep the press at bay during their July wedding, the couple
tried to ban the airspace around the Malibu beach ceremony but he said
the Federal Aviation Administration refused. "Jen and I both wanted privacy
but we also wanted it to be outside," Pitt said. "Jen finally said, ''Look,
if they get the picture, they get it. Don''t forget what the day was about.''
She was right," he said.
Upon taking their vows, he said a magical moment happened. "''The press
completely backed off. It shocked the hell out of me. I was like, ''I love
humanity!''" he said. The wedding, he added, "was one of the coolest things
I have ever been to."
His former girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow is reportedly heartbroken over the
Pitt-Aniston union but for Pitt that''s in the past. He mentions her name
only once in the interview, referring to her as "Paltrow."
In his spare time he and Aniston are restoring a traditional Craftsman
style house in the Hollywood Hills. He tells Details of his love of architecture
and penchant for design, particularly the Arts and Crafts style of Frank
Lloyd Wright and Charles Rennie Mackintosh. In fact, last summer he contributed
photos to a coffee-table book on the Greene brothers, pioneers of California''s
bungalow style.
