1. ma''am：madam的缩写，在社交场合称呼女士或小姐。因为Madam念起来比较生硬，所以这种用法比madam还常用。
2. a lot of water under the bridge：
water常常暗含有“事情”的意思。我们常常感慨“往事如烟、时光如流水”，美国人则说“很多水从桥下流过”，他们很含蓄哦。
3. used to be a much better liar：used to指过去的事情。伊尔莎说山姆过去很会撒谎，真正的意思也就是说他现在“真不会说谎”。
4. Leave sb. alone： 让某人独自一人，其实就是“别理他，别打扰他”的意思。
