From high and modern buildings to quick and convenient traffic, from beautiful and fashionable clothes to various and nutrimental food, from the most satellites in universe to the most popular films in Hollywood, all prove one point that is American advanced science and technology. But science and technology lie in talents. What makes talents? That is my theme——American education system.No comparison, no difference. So before we study American education system, we’d better know our Chinese education system. Chinese education system is a kind of examination——oriented education. The students don’t have completely freedom to choose their course according to their own interest. Most time, the students are only listeners. They just do what the teachers tell to do and only receive the teachers’ knowledge without doubt and choice. Study is only on a line of school and home. How to evaluate a good student is only by his scores in the final examination. So there is a very popular saying among the students. That is that the examinations are the teachers’ heirloom and the scores are the students’ fate. That’s right. High scores or low scores decide students to go a good and popular university or not, so that it decides the direction of his own development. Many students are waiting outside the universities. Once they pass the entrance examination, they will have their new life. But the entrance examination is only once in a year. Though some places have twice, most places in China still have once and the universities they can choose are limited. Many students will be refused and their dreams can’t come true. Well, another field is backward. That is psychology education. Chinese sense is not very open, especially in this field. It causes the backward of psychology education. So the abilities of assuming failure of many students are very weak. They can’t treat their own shortcoming and failure correctly. They are very nervous in the entrance examination and can’t show their original ability. So after the failure of the entrance examination, many students choose death to escape the reality. It makes many tragedies. In a word, Chinese education system makes the students tired in both body and heart.How about American education system? First, please think about “IT IS UP TO YOU” in “FAMILY ALBUM”. Robbie has just finished his high school life. He faces to choose a university. At school, he is an editor and he writes all kinds of articles. That is his interest and he wants to be a journalist. In America, whether a student can enter a good and popular university lies in his usual scores at high school. When choose universities, they will have an interview that the university they choose holds. Of course, he cannot only choose one university, that is, he can have more chances. So in the interview, they needn’t be very nervous. They could show their original ability and get a satisfied score. But more competitions face to them, because they must do a good job at school time. So not only the interview, but also the usual study is a challenging competition for them.Well, all above show that American education system is very different from Chinese. It is a successful education. In class, the students always show their own opinions to the teacher and the teacher will discuss with them. Besides, they can go out to have a class and the teacher always make the class interesting and vivid. The students treat their teachers as friends. The teachers play games with them together. Studying is going on in a relax environment. So the students don’t have a heavy load and they could have enough time to develop their hobbies. The teachers also encourage them and help them as more as they can. You will see that American students are very active. They could do many things by themselves and they have their own opinions to a certain thing. So there are many young inventers and many young Doctors. They do a lot of contributions to the country. Very different from China, the students have completely right to choose the courses according to their own interest and they also have the right to choose teachers. So the relation ship between teacher and student is very different from that in China.How about psychology education in America? From the fact that psychological doctors are very popular in America, we can know that its psychology education is very successful. Of course, it is very good for the students’ development in their minds. The teachers communicate with their students very frequently. Because of the special relation ship, the students trust their teachers. They could turn to their teachers. Meanwhile students know some knowledge on psychology. So they can solve some problems by themselves and they also help others. American education system also requires them to pay more attention on psychology.That is American education system.
