Last night, I came home very late after giving an English lecture at an adultclass. The class was not very responsive. It was raining cats and dogs. Imaginably, I was quite beat and not at all in good mood. To make things worse, the lamp at my stairway had been broken down and I had been too busyto fix it. It was completely dark there when I was climbing up the stairs with my heavy legs. I cursed,” Damn it!” All of sudden, I heard a sweetest childish voice from the third floor where my apartment is located, “ Just moment, David, let me light up your way.” Then a beam of light spotted where I was and it moved as I climbed up.At the entrance of the third floor stood my daughter holding a small flash, which beamed, so did her naive face. “ Did you see your way clearly, David?” she asked. “ I surely did, thank you, my sweet heart!” I answered in a gratitude tone.“ But how did you know I was coming back?” I asked, half-puzzlingly. “ I heard your footstep which is very familiar to me.” She answered in a proud voice.Sometimes, in life a small thing matters greatly. That little flashlight lit my way and warmed my heart. All my bad mood and fatigue were miraculously gone without trace.
