Now, if you can manage this it is really something delightful!
If there is a sheltered, private and sunny place where you can sun yourself
for 20 minutes to a half hour a day, make use of it. Develop that spot to be your own little sun spa. When its sunny in the morning I usually go to an upstairs deck where I have such a spot. Even in January or February, if the sun shines
I can get the sun on my arms and face and it lifts the spirits and also gives energy and health to the body. If you can't get outside, but can opena window and lay in the sunshine, do so. Cover up any bits that get cold. Oreven put on your hooded coat if necessary. It's worth it!
You may also write here on the forum, of course. You could make a plan to finda new friend. You could phone a friend. You could go out to lunch once a
month or so with a woman you like, and then go together to someinteresting places afterwards. Try art galleries, vintage clothing stores,
dollar stores, museums, a garden walk outdoors, before you separate.
Resolve to make your home comfortable and convenient. Do it by moving littlethings around. If you always need to go downstairs to get something, the next time find it a place where it is usually used.
Cultivate some house-plants such as "Christmas Cactus" which take very little care for the wonderful flowers they give at this time of year. Listen to some classical music that you like. Listen to some good Rock and Roll and dance to it.
Smile at yourself in the mirror. Put on your make-up and dress yourself simply
at home, but so that you feel good about yourself.
I could go on because I've learned all this for myself. Sometimes the onlyhuman face I see for a week may be my husband's in the morning and evening.
Sometimes he brings work home. Sometimes he goes out very early before I'mup. But if I can I always get a big hug and kiss and have tea with him at least
.
What do you think? It can be done and you'll have a good time with yourself.
With your friend -- yourself. Get yourself some old magazines, a big piece of paper and a gluestick and make some kind of an interesting collage from bits and
pieces of pictures that you find in magazines. Don't be afraid to look at pictures upside down or sideways to find interesting images. Make these your own images that you see in the pictures, not what the original was meant to depict. You
will be surprised what you see when you use your imagination and
look.
Have fun! There is really no need to be bored. Life can be interestingand exciting -- all by yourself. But not if you let others take over yourthoughts by watching tv, reading little love novels, or listening continually
to the chatter on the radio. Keep some time for one little novel once in a while, or a special tv show worth your interest, or some radio program that is really interesting. Then turn it off.
