Perfect DateMaria is a pretty girl who has a heart of gold. But she is very shy and doesn’t like to communicate with other people. Dennis is Maria’s neighbor who is very out-going and warm-hearted. They live in the same building since they were born. Gradually Dennis falls in love with Maria. However, Maria knows nothing about it.One day Dennis invites Maria to go a packed tour with him. The packed tour is organized specially for old people. Maria feels rather strange, but she still agrees. The tour bus is full of old people except they two. The bus stops at the foot of a small hill. All the old people go to a big kiosk to have a rest before climbing the hill. Maria and Dennis sit on the steps of the kiosk and begin to talk with each other. Dennis’s voice is deep and magnetic, “I know your parents’ divorce hurt you so much. You lack the love and care of a family since you were a child. But you can’t live the rest of your life just being unhappy! Cheer up, Maria. I want you to live happily.”Maria lowers her head, “Thanks for your caring about me. But it seems that I’ve built myself a castle and I can’t get out of it. I’ve already been used to the life in my castle.” There is an old couple near them. The husband skins a banana and put it in to his wife’s mouth. They smiles at each other. Dennis looks at the couple, “you see the couple? What a moving picture! Love still exists in this world after all. The point is you have to find it.”There is a short silence between them. Then Dennis says, “All right. Shall we take a walk along the hill path?”Maria stands up, “OK. Let’s go.”They play games on the long steps of the hill path. Of course Maria loses the game disastrously. After that, they take photos in the woods. Dennis has a very good sense of humor. He poses all kinds of amusing gestures for Maria to take pictures. Maria can’t help laughing from time to time. They are really enjoying a good time.Lunchtime comes. Dennis is spontaneous in buying foods and drinks for Maria. After lunch, wind begins to blow on the hill. Maria feels a little cold. Noticing that, Dennis takes off his coat immediately and drapes it over Maria’s shoulders. It seems as if something touches Maria’ heart.In the afternoon, Dennis tells Maria all his interesting things happened in his childhood. He uses every method to make Maria happy. His efforts are not wasted. Maria forgets all about her unhappiness. She seems to have changed into another person, singing and laughing.Without any noticing to the time, they have to get on the bus and go home now. On the bus, Dennis pretends to be asleep and leaps his head on Maria’s shoulder. An old lady nearby gives Maria a coat and says to her, “Drape it over your boyfriend’s body lest he should catch a cold.” Maria smiles at the lady and does as she tells her. Maria keeps her gesture and doesn’t “wake up” Dennis until the bus stops.After getting off the bus, Dennis accompanies Maria to her apartment. They stop at Maria’s apartment door. “It’s very kind of you to give me such a wonderful day. I guess I have to say goodbye to you. Good night.” Maria turns around and starts to open the door. Suddenly, Dennis catches her hand and pulls her back. “I have something to tell you. To tell you the truth, I’ve been in love with you secretly for a long time. But I dare not speak it to you. Today, I can’t miss the chance any more. Maria, let me protect you. Let me take care of you, OK? I swear I won’t permit anybody or anything hurt you. I’ll make you happy all through your life. Trust me, please!”Maria looks into Dennis’s eyes in silence for several minutes. Dennis’s eyes are full of anxiety. Then all of a sudden, Maria throws herself into Dennis’s arms and bust into tears. Dennis holds her tight, trying to comfort her. However, tears run down Dennis’s eyes, too.A love story begins.
