Spoken like a true believer in survival of the fittest. You must be a difficult
person to have as a friend. Are you?
By the way, do you think I spend the hours here that I have spent for the past five years in order to prey on you? What about David? Do you think he founded this forum in order to get something out of you? Do you know that no one here is
paid for any work they do?
David began this forum when he worked for Hongen. He hasn't worked for Hongen for years now. He is very busy, yet he and all here keep it going. It is because we like each other. We like to talk and share, and find friends, and help each other with English. There is no preying or being preyed upon here.
Of course we all use code names, and keep our personal details from the general
forum. That's just good internet practise.
Have you not realized yet that humans are not beasts of prey? We don't have the
physical teeth of beasts of prey. We are social animals. Beasts of prey are lone creatures. Think about this: humans have never been beasts of prey, or we
would have ripping, tearing teeth like "Lions and tigers and wolves -- oh my!"
We have thin teeth in the front, without a lot of strength, for cutting or snipping things off. We have strong molars in the back for grinding. We have what are called "eye teeth" or "canines," the two somewhat pointed ones on each side at the top which are for applying pressure, to do things such as opening nuts.
Have you ever heard of the word altruism? If not, why don't you look it up in a
dictionary? You might think of adding a little of it into your own life.
Think about it. Your cynical belief will eventually lead you into trouble because it isn't healthy nor is it normal. You need to have a reasonable amount of wisdom and street smarts in this modern world. But to make such a blanket statement about everybody, and about your own approach to life as one who preys on others before they prey on you is really quite terrible. It could damage most of your relationships throughout your life.
Think about this carefully, friend.
With my best wishes for you, Mary
