The FT-7 is a dual-seat trainer variation of the F-7 fighter, made by the Guizhou Aerospace Group of China since 1981. In Jul 1985, the FT-7 prototype based on F-7ii made its first flight.

歼教-7 ,是我国在歼-7基础上发展的双座教练机,由贵州航空工业集团负责研制。81年起贵州航空集团以歼-7II战斗机为原型开始研制工作,85年7月首飞,87年定型。装备部队后用于作为歼-7、歼-8战斗机飞行员的飞行训练。由于文革影响,歼-7系列改进型号的工作严重滞后,因此歼教-7出现的时候,歼-7早期型号已经在缺乏相应的训练手段的情况下服役了很长时间。

歼教-7采用小展弦比大后掠角的三角形机翼,机头进气的大细长比机身,全动的后掠水平尾翼和后退式襟翼。机翼前缘后掠角 57°,相对厚度翼根4.2%,翼尖5.0%,翼型为ЦАГИ-C9C双凸型超音速对称翼型。

As a dual-seat variation, the FT-7 has numbers of differences to the F-7. The second cockpit for the trainer is added. One more vertral fin is fixed to contain the stability after the body change. Since the second cockpit lessens the space of the fuel tank, another fuel tank is put on the back of the fuselage. The two canopies are to be opened to the right hand, a preiscope could be used by the trainer while taking off or landing. The FT-7 got a voice communication system in the cockpit for both pilots, as well as the dual flight control system in the two cockpits. The flight malfunction simuliation system & flight state recorder is the most important equipment of the FT-7, which can simulate the possible break down & record the flight state for reviewing.
