只要说一句「我愿意」，无论今后的生活是好是坏，一对夫妻从此就被「栓」在一块了，「天荒地老，至死不渝」。结婚很容易，离婚更容易，守住婚姻却是难上加难。《》的故事发生在两个毗邻而居的家庭中，上帝给他们开了一个小小的玩笑－－尽管两家生活方式却迥异，却「被迫」做了亲家，因为两家的孩子快要结婚了！还是早婚……新郎新娘都只有18岁（加拿大法定婚龄为18岁）！
准新郎Tom（Michael Seater扮演）是个英俊、帅气的小伙子，为人随和，性格很好。他的父母Ben（Peter Keleghan扮演）和Judith（Ellen David扮演）都是守旧派，在儿子的婚姻问题上历来讲究「门当户对」－－就算媳妇不是什么大家闺秀，也应该稳重端庄。而准新娘 Jessie（Stacey Farber）偏偏是个激情、活泼、外向、直率的女孩，她的父母Phil（Al Goulem扮演）和Tara Hill（Angela Asher Degrassi扮演）也都是不拘小节的人，还是一对坚定的环境保护者（tree-huggers）。
Tom和Jessie已经厌倦了只能隔着篱笆墙偷偷接吻的生活，他们不愿再躲躲藏藏。他们觉得自己长大了，可以自己决定自己的终身大事。当这对新婚夫妻堂而皇之地搬进Tom家的顶楼共同生活时，一场「婚姻大战」随即在两家人之间爆发。

This originally aired on the CBC back in January of 2010. At
that time there were no plans to air it in the US. However CW
has added it to the summer schedule. As such this show is technically ".CA"
and is different from Flashpoint, The Bridge and Rookie Blue in that those
all had scheduled US airdates when they began or aired concurrently
with the Canadian broadcast. We didn't do t he series in 720p back then as
we don't typically do Canadian shows in that format. We're bored now though
so here it is
