The documenatary explores the harrowing existences endured by women working as unpaid sex slaves at the mercy of unscrupulous gang bosses and the Police’s attempts to smash the cycle of criminality with Operation Pentameter 2 - Britain’s biggest police operation against sex trafficking.
Filmed over 12 months, the documentary follows officers as they undertake surveillance operations, execute raids, and attempt to break the extensive criminal networks that traffic women into the UK. The series reveals how the sex trade, fuelled by the thousands of British men who use brothels, is spreading out from the squalor of the city into suburbia. We’re even told that Cheltenham is a vice haven!
