For years the orcas of Valdez Bay have been intentionally stranding themselves to hunt juvenile sea lions: now, females in the pod are targeting three-times larger elephant seals. They're the only pod of orcas in the world to have perfected this technique.

They're amazing assassins, and they've learned their skills from a master. Using the force of the sea like a liquid skateboard, they look, they listen, and they calculate their chance of success. Then, the black and white, 5-ton tsunamis surge from the watery depths to seize prey from the dry beach before sliding silently back into the water.
