When a photographer (director Janis DeLucia Allen) decides to make a documentary about Stephanie (Melissa Leo), a former model who was killed by her boyfriend in an apparent murder-suicide, she uncovers disturbing evidence about the crime and about the enigmatic Stephanie herself. Why do those who knew Stephanie best all seem to be lying -- and did the boyfriend really pull the trigger? Mara Luthane co-stars in this atmospheric mystery.
Academy Award-nominee Melissa Leo headlines this mystery-tinged pseudo-documentary about a former model who died under mysterious circumstances, and the photographer who decides to launch her own investigation into the crime. The apparent victim of a murder-suicide, Stephanie (Leo) is discovered dead in her San Francisco apartment. The body of her boyfriend Richard (Chris Butler) is also found at the scene, leading the police to label it an open-and-shut case. Devastated, the photographer (Janis DeLucia Allen) who worked closely with Stephanie decides to produce a documentary about her friend and frequent subject. The deeper the photographer delves into the mystery of Stephanie's death, however, the more she begins to suspect that everything she knows about the case is a lie. Upon realizing that she may have been unconsciously complicit in Stephanie's tragic death, the truth-seeking shutterbug makes an ardent effort to fish the truth out from a sea of false leads.
